Social Innovation Camp aims to generate ideas about using the web to create social innovations. It is an initiative of Australian Social Innovation Exchange, a non-profit company formed to find better ways of tackling social problems and responding to growing community needs or opportunities. Social Innovation Camp is holding a series of ‘meetups’ in various locations around Australia. The Adelaide Meet Up will take place on Thursday 19 November 2009, 5pm-7pm at Connecting Up Australia's office: Level 8/ 108 King William St, Adelaide. Victor Harbor Seniors On-Line (VHSOL ) is a not-for-profit group, run by volunteers, that provides courses and equipment to help older people to become proficient in the use of computers. The office and computer suite are located at Carrickalinga House, corner of Torrens and Hill Streets in Victor Harbor. The TechSoup Digital Stories Challenge provided an opportunity tell the story of your organisation using simple online tools such as Flickr or YouTube. Several SA organisations submitted entries. WHAT’S ON
As the end of the year approaches information about Christmas events is sought by people throughout the community. Please help us to make this information easy to find by adding carols nights, pageants and any Christmas or end-of-year celebrations to Eventspool. Call 822 2755 if you need any help.
We also ask service providers to let us know about dates of closure over the Christmas-New Year period. Each year Connecting Up Australia collates this information and makes it available on our website. This enables service providers and individuals to find out where help is available at a time when many services are closed. Please send the relevant details to rd@connectingup.org.
