Arts organisations can learn about connecting with, building and engaging audiences using the internet and social media at connectarts.australiacouncil.gov.au. There is some great information here highlighting the findings of research undertaken by the Australia Council.

R U OK?Day on 15 September 2011 is  a national day of action to prevent suicide by encouraging people to ask colleagues, friends and loved ones 'R U OK?'. Register online to receive free resources to get involved.

The Older Person Centred Mediation Project  aims to help to prevent or resolve family conflicts and protect the interests, rights and safety of people over 65.

International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women is on 25 November 2011. Plan ahead to be part of this through the White Ribbon Campaign.

Adult Learners Week 1-8 September 2011. Nominations for Adult Learners’ Week Awards close on Friday 12 August, recognising the contributions of individuals, communities and organisations in providing adult learning.
