Local history - researching and preserving our past

Port Broughton Historical Society Inc. supporting regional local history

The Western Flinders History Group will hold a meeting on Sunday 13 April 2014, hosted by Port Broughton Historical Society Inc. at The Old Port Broughton School, Edmund Street, Port Broughton.

This group is actively researching and compiling historical information about the communities along the upper Spencer Gulf extending from Port Broughton to Port Germein.

The Port Broughton Historical Society runs the Heritage Centre, located in the old school building. It has themed rooms including the Community Room; Plangon Dool Display; School and War Display; Kitchen/Dining; District Council Room; Boat and Wheat Trade; and the Ladies' Room. The Centre opens on special days and by appointment.

Local history groups and societies are supported by History SA. They perform a valued service for our community by documenting and giving us access to information and artefacts from the past.
