A national not-for-profit scheme which promotes knowledge and pleasure of gardens and gardening by opening private gardens and running special events for the public. Proceeds from the gate fees go to basic running costs of Australia's Open Garden Scheme, to supporting community garden projects and to charity, Australia's Open Gardens guide is published each August with the program for all states for the next 12 months. It is available for purchase from newsagents, bookshops, our SA office and online from our website. In South Australia over 70 gardens are part of the Scheme with different gardens open most weekends from August to May. A weekly update is available on the website
