Frail aged and younger people with disabilities and their carers living in the Adelaide Hills Council for most services. Units: self-sufficent people

Services
  • Home help - basic short-term cleaning only. One-off spring/intensive cleaning may be available if required. Small hourly fee applies
  • Shopping assistance - subject to availability of volunteers. No charge
  • Respite - in home, limited service. Client contribution negotiated
  • Respite - out of home. Mystery drives in community bus. Small fee
  • Home maintenance - minor work only. Client pays for materials, labour costs negotiable
  • Home modification - minor work only such as ramps, hand rails. Client pays for materials, labour costs negotiable
  • Rubbish removal - fees negotiated, client pays dumping fees
  • Gardening - garden clean ups only, no regular gardening. Maximum 3 times per year depending upon need. Fees negotiated, client pays dumping fees
  • Home safety and security assessments - no charge
  • Transport - community bus provides transport to seniors clubs, community events, activities, library and shopping 3 times a week. Donation required. Personal transport may be available by volunteer drivers for medical appointments. $5 charge each way
  • Social support and outings - Caring in Our Community program supports frail aged and people with disabilities who are socially isolated. Links residents with a volunteer who will visit them and/or accompany them to appointments or social outings. No charge. Contact The Hut Community Centre or the Torrens Valley Community Centre.
  • Independent living units for the aged - located in Balhannah, Bridgewater, Crafers, Gumeracha, Lobethal and Woodside
