Parenting KI was first established in 2004 by a group of volunteers and service providers who recognised the lack of services to meet parents and their families’ needs across Kangaroo Island.

Currently, Parenting KI is funded by the Department of Social Services and is a ‘Children and Parenting Support’ activity under the Families and Children Program.  The purpose of the grant is ‘to strengthen relationships, support family and community functioning, and reduce the cost of family breakdown’.
