Comment: The Department of Education and Children's Services is the state government organisation with responsibility for licensing care services; monitoring service standards; planning and implementing new care services; promoting best practice and quality improvement services.
Early childhood education and care services are provided, licensed or sponsored by the Department of Education and Children's Services. These services are available for young children from birth to school age, as well as childcare for children attending school.
