LUNCH CLUBS Supported by enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers, Council's Lunch Clubs provide a range of opportunities for social interaction for people who are frail aged and respite for their carers. Held on Tuesday at the Mitcham Community Centre and Friday at Blackwood, each has a variety of activities such as guest speakers, bus trips, concerts, crafts and gentle exercises. Transport is available for most activities.
Fee: $14 lunch and return transport. Bus trips $38 (including lunch).
MEN'S GROUPS Meet once a month at the Mitcham Community Centre before travelling to different destinations for lunch.
Fee: $10 for Bus plus cost of meal (varies according to venue)
MAHJONG Meets every Thursday at the Mitcham Community Centre 1 - 3pm

Personal Transport – 8374 7724
Volunteer drivers contribute their time to take eligible residents to medical or one-off appointments, to visit someone in hospital or to local shopping centres. Assistance is subject to the availability of a volunteer. Because there is a high demand for this service, the more notice you give, the more chance we have of finding a volunteer. At least three working days notice is appreciated. Regular volunteer support (eg shopping) may require longer notice to organise.
Fee: $6.00 return within Mitcham council area, $14 return outside Mitcham
