Mapping - making information easier to find

Using simple mapping technology and understanding of location, MapIQ can lead people to make well informed decisions and better choices.

The South Australian Department for Communities and Social Inclusion (DCSI) has launched a new public information search tool called MapIQ.

MapIQ focuses on connecting citizens to community based services in their neighbourhood and to the wider community. Through simple visualisation mapping technology and the understanding of location it can lead organisations and citizens to make well informed decisions and better choices.

MapIQ aims to deliver these benefits through integrating information from Connecting Up, Adelaide Metro timetables, Seniors Card, Service SA, Schools, Libraries, SA Police, Australia Post, Centrelink, shopping facilities and Google Street view to name a few. It will become South Australian’s social services mapping application of choice with users.

To begin discovering your neighbourhood click the MapIQ link at www.dcsi.sa.gov.au or direct at http://mapiq.dfc.sa.gov.au/mapiq/index.html
