Photo: Visit the Botanic Gardens of South Australia to see the Victoria amazonica waterlilies in their flowering season between September and April each year. You may consider joining their volunteering program to become more involved in the range of activities available within the organisation.
 
31 March - 9 April
National Youth Week is an event for young people aged 12-25 years, this year's theme is "youTHRIVE." The week focuses on 'the importance of young South Australian's physical, mental, emotional and social wellbeing.' 
 
1-30 April
Autism Awareness Month in Australia. Visit Autism SA to find more about their organisation and events.
 
3-7 April
SA Health hosts South Australia's Public Health Week
"Step Up. Be Healthy" take part in one of the many events!
 
4 April
World Stray Animals Day. Visit the RSPCA to discover what you can do if you lose or find a pet.
 
11 April
World Parkinson's Day, "Unite for Parkinsons". In SA visit Parkinson's SA for information and support.
 
18 April
International Day on Monuments and Sites "Cultural Heritage & Sustainable Tourism" from ICOMOS who conserve and protect cultural heritage places. 
ICOMOS support Blue Shield International who protect world cultural sites from attack or destruction in emergency situations, such as armed conflict or natural disaster.

18 April to 21 May
The Australian Heritage Festival hosted by The National Trust.

22 April 
International Mother Earth Day is a UN observance to promote harmony with nature and the earth. This year's theme is "Environmental & Climate Literacy". In SA, consider the Permaculture Association of SA and take part.

24-30 April
World Immunisation Week #VaccinesWork to raise the importance of immunisation. In SA visit the Vaccines - SA Health for information.

ANZAC Day commemoration. Events held in Adelaide are coordinated by the Returned and Services League of Australia (SA branch).
 
26 April 
International Guide Dog Day, In SA, support organisations such as Guide Dogs SA/NT and Royal Society for the Blind who provide assistance dogs for people with vision or hearing impaired. 
 
28 April
World Day for Safety and Health at Work "Optimise the collection and use of occupational safety and health (OSH) data" In SA visit SafeWork SA for information on work, health and safety across South Australia.
 
29 April
Ridley Grove Community Garden welcomes you to their Autumn Community Family Day 10am-1pm at Woodville Gardens. Open garden, stalls and light entertainment.
 
30 April
International Jazz Day In SA, events include 5MBS 99.9FM presentation of 24 hours of Jazz and an International Jazz Day Gala at the Adelaide Festival Centre
