‘Come and Try’ bushcare with Trees For Life

For over 20 years, Trees For Life’s Bush For Life program has been engaging, training and supporting volunteers to care for our precious native bushland. By participating in the Bush For Life program you can help protect our natural habitats and learn about South Australia’s native plants.

What is Bush For Life?

Bush For Life activities encourage natural regeneration of valuable remnants of native bushland by reducing weeds that compete with our native plants for space, food and water.

From April to November Trees For Life runs half or full day activities across 300 Bush For Life sites covering 4000 hectares.

You can book into an activity on the date and location that suits you. Transport is available from Brooklyn Park for some activities. Trees For Life provides all equipment, safety gear and staff guidance.

Getting started
To take the first step you can choose from the following options:

Introductory Bush Regeneration Workshop

This one day workshop provides an introduction to native vegetation, bushcare techniques and how to work safely in the bush, and includes indoor and outdoor activities.

‘Come and Try’ bushcare day

Come and Try activities are designed for first time Bush For Life volunteers to give bushcare a go in a supportive environment with our experienced staff. Activities run from 9:00 to 3:30pm at a Bush For Life site. Bush For Life volunteering is suitable for most people and no prior experience or green thumb is required.
