U3A Inner North - 200 members and over 40 classes in 2021

News from U3A Inner North ...
 
New name, new venue, new President, and a new ambitious Program, all set the scene for the beginning of U3A Inner North at Enfield Community Centre in 2021. The doors opened in February after a year of almost continual lockdown.
 
It has taken a leap of faith in such uncertain times. Volunteer Tutors are the heart of the organisation. We are delighted with the ideas and expertise they so willingly share, and the enthusiasm with which people have taken up the opportunities offered. By the beginning of March, the milestone of 200 members was reached. Moving to Enfield Community Centre allows most classes to be accessible and coordinated into one location increasing the opportunities for learning and building new friendships.
 
The dynamic Program Team have put together a 2021 Program containing a variety of over 40 classes. New classes include Bird Watching, Gardening Interest Group, Photography, Chinese Language and Culture, Smartphones and Tablets, and Social Table Tennis. Continuing classes include the Guest Speaker series, Out and About series, and Armchair Travel. Arts, Crafts and Hobbies are available along with Book Groups, Mah Jong and Canasta, Computers and IT, Circle Dancing, Food and Drink, History and Current Affairs, French, Music and Movie groups, and Meditation.

Membership is extremely affordable and allow members to enrol for as many classes as they can fit into their schedule. Our Tutors are all volunteers committed to sharing their passions. The Committee volunteer their time to run the organisation, often learning necessary new skills on-the-job, even at our age!
