2021 National Volunteer Week 17-23 May

This week is National Volunteer Week across Australia, and SAcommunity and Connecting Up would like to take this opportunity to thank all our wonderful volunteers for their contributions providing community information and services across the state! 

Our volunteers work tirelessly making phone calls, answering emails and updating over 15,000 listings in the SAcommunity database, ensuring that South Australians have access to up-to-date, reliable information on community services and organisations. They also provide data analytics for councils, create videos, and write stories highlighting the fantastic work of South Australia's community groups and advertising community events.  

We wanted to use this opportunity to share some of our volunteers' experiences and celebrate the fantastic work they do, and so have asked a number of our volunteers to share their stories with us as part of the My Volunteer Experience series.
 
Our volunteers comes from a range of diverse backgounds and cultures, and bring a variety of skills and knowledge to the team. Some of volunteers that have been with us for many years, while others have only joined recently.

Connecting Up would also like to take this time to celebrate and farewell long serving volunteer Cheryl, who has been a dedicated member of Connecting Up's Volunteer team for almost seven years, since August 6th 2014, and who is retiring this month. We would like to thank her for all her hard work over the years and wish her all the very best going forward in the future.
