The Clipper Ship City of Adelaide is the oldest clipper ship in the world, and is located right here in Port Adelaide. This weekend, the Clipper Ship City of Adelaide will be running a Descendants Day event on the 157th Anniversary of the ships first arrival. For 23 years, the ship made annual return voyages to London and Plymouth, then back to Adelaide, carrying passengers, wool and copper on its trips back to England.

The event is open to the public, with both free and paid components. There will be free activities available on the Warf and shed 13, including family history displays, films, and activities for children. Paid tours of the ship will also be available, and do not need to be reserved in advance.

The event will also be attended by members of the Victoriana Society of SA and the Adelaide Regiment of Volunteers Rifles 1860-1865 in period costume. Free parking is available on Dock 2.

Due to COVID restrictions, the Descendants Day will be ticketed to limit crowd numbers on the day. To register for a free ticket, visit: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/descendants-day-tickets-174008192187
