Observing nights held at the observatories each month for members and for the public at Stockport Observatory, Observatory Rd, Stockport, The Heights School, Northern Yorke Peninsula and Whyalla

The society occupies a number of permanent observatories in South Australia that house large telescopes, and can bring smaller telescopes to schools and groups venues.

- Promotion of the science of astronomy through regular meetings, viewing nights and use of research-grade facilities for members plus researches on application
- Workshops, training and camps
- Private viewing nights at observatories available for schools and groups by arrangement; visits to schools or community groups to hold astronomy education sessions and publincludesic viewings can be organised
- Library for members books, DVDs and other items
- Website provides videos of General Meetings for members
