The society occupies a number of permanent observatories in South Australia that house large telescopes, and can bring smaller telescopes to schools and groups venues.

  • Promotion of the science of astronomy through regular meetings, viewing nights and use of research-grade facilities for members plus researches on application
  • Workshops, training and camps
  • Private viewing nights at observatories available for schools and groups by arrangement; visits to schools or community groups to hold astronomy education sessions and publincludesic viewings can be organised
  • Library for members books, DVDs and other items
  • Website provides videos of General Meetings for members
