Taylor Alland joined our Media and Communications Team for his Adelaide University Arts, Business, Law, and Economics Internship for Media on the 25 July for Semester 2, 2022 - 6 September 2022.
The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) celebrates 90 years in 2022 since it was first launched on the 1st of July 1932. The service was initially available on radio, expanded to television in 1956 and onwards to digital media to reliably connect people to news, information, entertainment and education, becoming a trusted media service, in representing and telling Australian stories in everyday life, and giving local people a voice.
Brooke began volunteering with Connecting Up on 11 September 2019 after finishing a double degree in Media and Arts at the University of Adelaide. Like many students and new graduates, she aimed to use her time wisely by practicing the skills she developed while studying amid job hunting. However she found she also gained administrative experience, learnt about the not-for-profit sector, created new connections and networks and became a valuable member of the team.
