National Volunteer Week 2023 - We are the Change Makers
It’s National Volunteer Week (NVW), Australia’s largest annual celebration of volunteering held from 15 – 21 May 2023.

So we are celebrating our volunteers with this year’s theme The Change Makers to recognise that volunteers are Change Makers in communities around Australia.

Looking for a digital way to thank your volunteers?
Send them an online Certificate of Appreciation by visiting the Volunteering Australia website at at https://www.volunteeringaustralia.org/get-involved/nvw/online-certificate/#/

SAcommunity Volunteers

Our 28 active volunteers and interns have been working to provide our SAcommunity service at Connecting Up, Infoxchange and helping our interns to update vital community services across South Australia through their work across our Customer Service Team, Information Management Team, Data Analytics Team, Media & Communications Team, Visual Design Team and Volunteer Capacity Building Team.

Thank you Volunteers

Your support with our SAcommunity service means that people can connect with each other, find the information they need and become involved in their community.

Thank you specifically to the...

Customer Service Team

By contacting community services across SA by phone and email and responding to information updates you have made important connections with local organisations. Through understanding services and recording their important services, programs and activities, you have provided even the smallest group with a web presence, and made them easier to find for people looking for assistance and wanting to participate in their community.

Information Management Team
By assessing, correcting, organising and controlling information records using content principles, standards and tools and checking content using search results. You have made important improvements in improving information retrieval and presenting data effectively to meet users' information needs.

Media Team
By promoting community services, activities and events you have helped build South Australian community capacity and resilience. You have assisted community services by updating their organisations's directory information and promoting their services in South Australia. Your work helps decision-makers, services and the public understand more about the activities of community services operating in their area.

Data Analytics Team
By updating and cleaning data records, and presenting data reports and information by council on the SAcommunity website. You have enabled decision-making bodies know that we are available to help them with information and exports, and have assisted community services by updating their information and indicating listed service demands in South Australia. Your work helps decision-makers and services understand local needs and local services for communication, consultation, networking and resource distribution.
