Work Experience - Council Statistics Project
Sarthak has been working in the Data Analytics Team with assistance from Team Lead Stathis Avramis on the
Council Statistics project. Preparing and consolidating the data exports to create reports utilising the SAcommunity dataset, Google Analytics, Power BI and Canva. These reports present community services operating within the council area and provide an indication of service demand to assist with council decision-making, awareness or research.

Sarthak's focus has been on providing data analytics reports on community services operating in the City of Peterborough in SAcommunity for the Financial Year 2020-2021. Sarthak's final data analytics reports can be found >>here.

Capacity Building Project
Sarthak also undertook a Capacity Building Project, these are projects that assist other interns and volunteers, creating an automation for the email processes for the SAcommunity Team Meeting Minutes. He made the automation by linking the meeting minutes form made in the Microsoft forms by adding it to the email through Power Automate.

Telephone Techniques
Sarthak was provided with Telephone Techniques training and practice from Volunteer David Webb to enable him to contact community service organisations within his dataset and confirm their details. Training includes email templates, a telephone script and interview guide. Customer service skills are always important, this training is key to collect information and correct any anomalies in the data, as accuracy within the dataset is critical. Telephone Techniques also provide practice for contacting his chosen council in the future to introduce his report summary, initially by email and then ideally by phone to tell the data story for the council.

Training and Development
The Connecting Up Digital Learning platform, is a training and development online learning platform from subject matter experts featuring live and recorded webinars, workshops and webcons. Mentor Program

Divyanshu Tomar is an Implementation Consultant in Customer Delivery at Infoxchange. Sarthak selected Divyanshu for a number of reasons including his work as a Technical Analyst in the community sector with 5+ years of software development and data analysis experience, completing his Masters in Business Analytics. In particular Sarthaks motivation was that Divyanshu stated in his LinkedIn biography he 'loves working with data and the impact it can have to make this world a better place."

5 key takeaways from the mentor meeting

•     People always believe that if you have strengths and weaknesses, people usually focus on mending their weakness. But one should work more on strengths as well to excel in what you are doing rather than becoming better in every aspect.
•     Technical skills are believed to be the most important, but if a company is hiring you, they are not just hiring you for your technical skills. They are also hiring you by considering your personality as well and what you bring out there.
•     It is better to start small and do more things so that eventually you are trained for a bigger picture.
•     Change is the only thing that is constant. Try and working on smaller goals and make new goals as you achieve the smaller ones.
•     Getting out there is a must. Just the knowledge about something would never benefit you. Trying out the knowledge in practical aspects will help you learn in a better way.

Interns Sarthak Jain and Jordana Izquierdo, with Infoxchange CEO, David Spriggs

People & Culture

I was lucky enough to meet the CEO of Infoxchange, David Spriggs at the Adelaide EOFY Celebrations Lunch and have a chat with him. I am currently pursuing a Bachelors of Computer Science and I learnt similarly that he studied a Bachelor of Information Technology from UQ, so it was a very informative discussion. I gained some great insights about his career pathway and life as well, one of my takeaways from our discussion was that he said change is the only thing that is constant so to do what you feel is the most suitable thing for you and to always follow your passion.
