What is the project?
Community Information records and reflects life, with community services and service demand impacted by and emulated in the changes in social conditions, economic development, demographics and cultural diversity of the population they serve.
SAcommunity provides a free community information directory, South Australian community sector news service, and presents data analytic statistics for councils on service demands across the state.
Our SAcommunity Customer Experience Team contact not-for-profit organisations to understand and record their services and programs, activities and events, in our online directory, at no cost. Providing even the smallest group with a web presence and standardised succinct summary as part of creating community connections. Data exports are available for government, councils, libraries for community consultations, grants, events and research.
Team members research multiple online sources and contact community organisations by phone and email to confirm club details and update community information records, indexing and standardising these records to directory format within the SAcommunity database .
There are a lot of important local services to record in SA, and we could really use your help!
Benefits for Volunteers, Students and Interns?
Volunteers, Students and Interns become part of the SAcommunity Customer Experience Team, working on a database that is well-known across the government, community and not-for-profit sector. Data updates to records are attributed and volunteer's contributions are recorded with experience reports available to add to resumes or LinkedIn profiles.
Volunteers, Students and Interns receive opportunities for training including access to Connecting Up’s Digital Learning Platform featuring media webinars for the NFP sector on a range of tech-based topics from experts across Australia to improve their digital literacy.
Volunteers, Students and Interns also have access to the volunteer/placement mentor program with customer experience volunteers and students able to meet with Connecting Up or Infoxchange staff including Sarah Rayner-Fry, Customer Experience Coordinator, Danielle Bowen and Sam Whillas Customer Experience Officers for a one-to-one conversation in-person or online.
The final benefit is that students can undertake their placement within a recognised tech-based, not-for-profit organisation that brings about positive social change.
