It’s About Time to celebrate South Australia’s history!

About Time: South Australia’s History Festival 1-31 May 2013 features 522 events happening all over South Australia

About Time: South Australia’s History Festival is on again from 1-31 May 2013. The program features 522 events happening all over South Australia, from walks, talks, displays and performances to bus tours, open days and film screenings, and so much more.

About Time is run by History SA, but individual events are curated and presented by a diverse range organisations - many of which are volunteer-run community groups with a passion for sharing their stories.

There is something for everyone in the About Time program. During May you can tour the tunnels under the old Adelaide Treasury building; visit Ayers House at night; enjoy a music concert at West Terrace Cemetery; or take a trip on a steam-powered tug boat. About Time also provides the perfect opportunity to visit South Australia’s regional areas, see behind the doors of some heritage treasures and experience the state’s fascinating history.

About Time, Adelaide will host the second Open House Adelaide on 4 & 5 May. This popular component of the history festival unlocks the doors to over 50 of Adelaide’s buildings, allowing the public to explore the city for free. Architecture is always a popular talking point, and this event creates discussion and showcases the diversity of the built environment of Adelaide - past, present and future.

About Time programs are available at libraries, councils, museums, visitor information centres and other participating outlets all over South Australia. The full program is also available online at: abouttime.sa.gov.au and openhouseadelaide.com.au.
