ANZAC Day 25 April 2023

ANZAC Day held on the 25th April marks the anniversary of the Australian and New Zealand forces landing at Gallipoli during the first World War. The day serves as an occasion to reflect on war and commemorate those who have died in military and peacekeeping operations.
 
The Australian War Memorial has more information on the history and tradition of ANZAC Day. Along with the Department of Veterans’ Affairs ANZAC Portal providing education and community awareness of Australia’s experience of war.
 
Anzac Day commemorative services will be held across Australia with the RSL - Returned & Services League of Australia (SA Branch) delivering ANZAC day services including:

  • Dawn Service
    Commencing from 5.30am, 6am or various times/locations 
    with Anzac Day services listed >>here held in Adelaide and across South Australia by RSL branches throughout the state
  • Anzac Day Commemorative March
    Commencing at 9.30am
    Corner of North Tce & Gawler Place, Adelaide SA 5000. The commemorative march proceeds down King William Road and across the River Torrens, with veterans, families and the public welcome to catch up afterwards on the Torrens Parade Ground.
  • Cross of Sacrifice Remembrance Service
    Commencing immediately after the Anzac Day March concludes

People may consider a Light Up the Dawn commemoration from their home, contribute to the Anzac Appeal to help the RSL support veterans, support a local RSL group or contribute pictures and information to the Virtual War Memorial Australia
