You may have already heard about our next big project: Connecting Up Directory: Australian Nonprofits & Charity Organisations.
We have been busy preparing the data and developing a brand new website that will allow the public and stakeholders to search for and view information about nonprofits and charities all around Australia. The organisations themselves will be able to register to add their details if they are not already listed, or to update them if necessary. We have worked hard to make the directory simple and intuitive so that it is easy for users to interact with and to provide feedback and comments that will help us improve it.
We are looking forward to our launch which will be held in Sydney on Friday 2 December 2011 with friends and supporters present from nonprofits and charities, philanthropic organisations and government agencies. Senator Ursula Stephens will officiate to make the directory available to all, starting with around 50,000 Australian nonprofits and charities listed online. If you would like to attend and haven't yet received an invitation from us, we are offering the chance to sign up online. Go to connectingupdirectory.eventbrite.com and register to be there! But you will have to be quick as the numbers are limited.
We want to invite anyone who is involved with a nonprofit or charity as an executive, staff, board member, volunteer, donor, or other stakeholder to use the directory and be involved in its development. We need input from the sector to build it, to make the content more comprehensive and to keep it current.
