Training and Development - Telephone Techniques
Telephone techniques are critical for communication in the workplace and complement email and other methods. All volunteers and interns are taught telephone techniques with a basic script template that provides a basis and can be used for all sorts of future work environments.
Telephone practice also helps members gain a better understanding of the SAcommunity service, the directory and data collection processes. These techniques are used for data cleaning, updating individual council datasets, and eventually presenting data reports to council stakeholders. Multiple telephone technique sessions are held with the team, as similar to the students' elevator pitch practice which is used for making introductions, ongoing practice of these techniques provides familiary and gives the team confidence for any future scenario.
