130 years ago, Prospect Town Hall was officially opened.

Catherine Manning, Local History Officer at the City of Prospect, has been looking into the history of what is affectionately and officially called Elisa Hall, and she would like to extend an invitation to attend a special celebration – 130 Years of Eliza Hall.

“On 3 August, 1895, Josiah Symon officially opened Prospect Town Hall, now better known as Eliza Hall. This year we gather to celebrate the many events and moments it has played host to in the years since.

Keith Conlon OAM, former Chair of the South Australian Heritage Council and Prospect resident, joins us for a lively Q & A chat on related local history. Hear him speak as you enjoy light refreshments, and a slideshow featuring your Eliza Hall memories and images from the Prospect Local History Collection.

Catherine would also like your help. She is looking for contributions to the 130th Celebration slideshow.

Help us collect history. Have you had a special moment at Eliza Hall? Has it been the location of a personal celebration or a public event you have been a part of? Send your photos to feature at a celebration of our Eliza Hall, and our community history. Please send photos and memories
to admin@prospect.sa.gov.au marked Attention Prospect Local History Officer.”

Join the celebration and you’ll become part of Eliza Hall’s special history.
