The OzAsia Festival 2025 returns to Adelaide from 17 October - 9 November 2025, bringing three fabulous weeks of contemporary Asian and Asian Australian performance, art, literature, cuisine, and culture. This year’s expanded program features a vibrant mix of food markets, art exhibitions, live music, and cultural experiences, offering something for everyone.
From free outdoor events to ticketed performances, the program showcases community, national, and international artists. Expect immersive art installations, live music, and interactive workshops across the city. The beloved Moon Lantern Trail returns, featuring giant handcrafted lanterns and roving performances. The Moon Garden will be expanded for 2025, creating a free, family-friendly retreat in the heart of the trail.
A major highlight this year is The Lanterns Glow from 21 October - 31 December, a captivating site-specific installation by emerging artist Jake Yang at the historic phone booths of Adelaide Railway Station. Each booth is transformed with symbolic Chinese colours, black, white, red, green, and yellow, adorned with motifs of lucky jade, the Chinese zodiac, koi fish, and lustrous silks. Through painting, textiles, ceramics, and sculpture, Yang reinterprets traditional Chinese artefacts while exploring his Chinese heritage and queer identity, creating a powerful celebration of cultural empowerment and self-acceptance.
The Adelaide Railway Station will also host free cultural activities including lantern-making, origami, calligraphy, lawn games, and storytelling, led by local artists and community groups.
The Lucky Dumpling Market returns to Elder Park from 17 October to 9 November. Visitors can indulge in dumplings, noodles, bubble tea, and other Asian street food from local vendors, while enjoying free live entertainment on the OzAsia Festival Stage every Thursday to Sunday.
Anime fans can join the AnimeGO! Japan Pop Culture Festival on Sunday, 26 October at the Dom Polski Centre. The 9th annual event will celebrate Japanese pop culture with anime screenings, manga, karaoke, cosplay, and more.
Whether you’re a foodie, art enthusiast, or pop culture lover, the OzAsia Festival 2025 in Adelaide is a must-visit celebration of creativity and culture.
