The Adelaide Guitar Festival returns in 2025 with a month-long celebration of the world’s most versatile and emotive instrument, running from 10 September to 12 October. As Australia’s largest and most prestigious guitar event and the most significant gathering of guitar enthusiasts in the Southern Hemisphere, the festival transforms Adelaide, our UNESCO City of Music (since 2015), into a vibrant meeting place for world class guitarists, passionate fans, and curious newcomers alike.
From soulful blues and heartfelt country ballads to the fiery rhythms of flamenco, the raw energy of rock ’n’ roll, and everything in between, this year’s program will showcase the guitar’s extraordinary ability to tell stories, stir emotions, and unite cultures. Lovers, learners, luthiers, soloists, and shredders will all find common ground in this shared celebration of music. The festival’s diverse lineup promises not just performances, but moments of genuine connection that cross genres, generations, and borders through the universal language of strings.
In 2025, the magic of the Adelaide Guitar Festival will extend far beyond the city stage. Alongside its exciting metropolitan program, the On the Road tour will bring music to regional South Australia, with events and activations in Mount Gambier and surrounding communities across the South East and Limestone Coast including Keith, Naracoorte, Coonawarra, and Robe.
In Mount Gambier, Boandik Country: Blak Country, audiences can enjoy two exclusive ticketed events at the Sir Robert Helpmann Theatre, Blak Country on Friday 10 October and the South Australian premiere of Australian Guitar Quartet on Saturday 11 October, with tickets on sale now! These performances will be complemented by a weekend of free, family friendly guitar based music across Mount Gambier from 10 to 12 October, bringing the joy and spirit of the festival to the heart of the community. With all the exciting programs available within the festival, costs of tickets will vary.
