RDNS SA has been providing leading health care and education services to South Australians since 1894. Over nearly 120 years, and despite two World Wars and the Great Depression, RDNS SA has gone from strength to strength since the first nurse commenced her round in Bowden.

Today over 500 nurses, allied health professionals and care workers make over 15,000 visits each week across Adelaide. Clients range from newborn babies to seniors. With an ageing population requiring diverse services in health and wellbeing, RDNS SA is well placed to provide the best care when and where clients need it. Leadership in health services and education training allows RDNS SA to provide services to Federal and State Governments and allied professionals as well as direct to clients.

In September 2011 RDNS SA merged with Silver Chain (Western Australia), a like-minded organisation with similar systems, values and services. The seeds of collaboration between the two organisations were originally sown in 1907 when the fledgling Silver Chain, noting their advancement in the field of in-community health care, called on RDNS SA (then known as District Trained Nursing Society) for assistance in establishing their organisation. RDNS SA is now part of the Silver Chain Group. This merger has created one of the largest in-home health and care providers in Australia.

RDNS SA prides itself on its history, innovation and services that help clients to remain independent for as long as possible at home, as well as supporting the health and wellness of the wider community.  RDNS SA is making a difference in the lives of people every day!
