SA Carers Excellence Awards

 The SA Carers Excellence Awards recognises organisations and businesses that have provided excellence in service or support to family carers as their customers or employees. Carers SA are hosting the awards for the first time in 2014. The awards focus on the business community and their initiatives and services that support family carers.

Applications are sought from businesses (for profit), community agencies (not for profit) or government agencies. Anyone can nominate. Businesses and organisations can self-nominate.

Carers SA, CEO Rosemary Warmington AM, believes the awards are a fantastic way to acknowledge and showcase South Australian businesses that are supporting family carers. ‘By recognising the business community, it assists to raise awareness, build recognition, respect and support for family carers’, she said.

Caring for the most vulnerable in our society is a shared responsibility. Unpaid family carers are doing their bit. These awards will recognise the businesses that are sharing responsibility and supporting carers who are their customers or employees. Nominations are open until Friday 1 August 2014. Anyone can nominate and businesses can self-nominate.

Outstanding initiatives and services will be acknowledge at an Awards Ceremony during Carers Week, on Tuesday 14 October 2014.
