SAcommunity at Prospect Fair 2016

If you were at the Prospect Fair in St Helen’s Park on Saturday 19th March, you might have found us promoting SAcommunity and sharing the Community Development Stall with our friends from the City of Prospect, Volunteering SA & NT and Northern Volunteering.
The annual fair is a family-friendly community event, displaying the services, clubs and organisations that contribute to the Prospect community, and acts as a fundraiser to support their activities.
Prospect Mayor David O’Loughlin kindly offered to be interviewed in a new SAcommunity film which was recorded at the event. He highlighted the benefits SAcommunity provided as a resource, and explained its use by the library and volunteer coordinator to help people get in touch with their community. We thank him wholeheartedly for his contribution during what was a very busy day!
It was great to see many of the local groups in action and meet inspiring people such as Alison Wall, the Volunteer & Community Programs Coordinator for the City of Prospect. Alison along with members of other volunteering organisations present, assist people to ‘get involved’ and find the volunteering opportunities they are looking for.
The 2016 Prospect Fair was very successful with 87 stalls and a variety of community groups and services present, and we would like to thank you all for a full and enjoyable time.
Some of the community groups involved included
Lions Club of Prospect Blair Athol
Scouts SA - Prospect Sea Scouts
Taoist Tai Chi Society of Australia (TTCSA)
Along with many many more….
