ANZAC Day 2017 (Centenary of Anzac 2014–2018)
ANZAC Day held on the 25th April marks the anniversary of the Australian and New Zealand forces landing at Gallipoli during the first World War. The day serves as an occasion to reflect on war and commemorate those who have died in military and peacekeeping operations.
The Australian War Memorial has more information on the history and tradition of ANZAC Day. Along with the Department of Veterans’ Affairs ANZAC Portal providing education and community awareness of Australia’s experience of war.
Anzac Day commemorative services will be held across Australia with the Returned & Services League of Australia (SA Branch) delivering ANZAC day activities in the city with services taking place at RSL sub-branches throughout the state.
