SAcommunity Film

Meet a few of the stars of the new SAcommunity film!

·         Jenny Hughes CEO – Catalyst

·         Miriam Cocking Chairperson – Multicultural Communities Council of SA

·         David O’Loughlin – Mayor – City of Prospect

Connecting Up wanted to promote SAcommunity as a much needed service for South Australia and we called on our network of friends from the community sector for help, with filmmaker Brecon James from Double Vision Media Productions at the helm.

The film featured a few of those organisations that use and contribute information to SAcommunity:

  • Catalyst (Formerly The Seniors Information Service) a charitable and inclusive information service provider. The organisation provides information, support, programs and advice to South Australians on the ageing and disability journey.
  • The Multicultural Communities Council of SA a community organisation that efficiently services, innovatively empowers and strongly advocates for cultural and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities in South Australia.
  • The City of Prospect where SAcommunity information is used across council, by Volunteer and Community Programs Coordinator Alison Wall and City of Prospect Public Library staff members.

The film also starred our very own SAcommunity volunteers who became Connecting Up celebrities!

It’s not an easy task to be interviewed under the bright studio lights and we would like to thank everyone involved in the process. We appreciate your work in highlighting how the directory benefits the community, particularly in terms of providing people with the information and services they need. It was great to have such strong support. Thanks.
