Biennial Members’ Exhibition of the Embroiderers' Guild of South Australia Inc.

The Embroiderers’ Guild of SA Inc. promotes the practice, study and appreciation of embroidery in all its forms and encourages excellence by practice and example.

Every 2 years the Guild hosts an exhibition of members’ work which is open to the public. The Embroiderers Guild consists of 12 country groups, 17 special interest groups which meet regularly at the Guild’s premises in Mile End. The result of this and classes which teach new skills and further existing skills is a large body of work of great variety.

An important event within the exhibition is the awarding of the Peg Saddler Award named after a long standing member and supporter of the Guild. The award recognises the embroiderer of the most outstanding original embroidery submitted at the exhibition. As a result members are busy stitching having prepared their own design, based around their preferred style of embroidery and using their favourite media.

There are daily demonstrations of embroidery techniques, handmade items and some exhibits are for sale.

Morning and afternoon tea, featuring the cooking skills of our members, will be available for a small charge and once again, we will be having a raffle on sale to help with the costs of holding such an extensive exhibition.

There will also be the opportunity for people to visit our library, see our museum and to purchase goods from our store.

We look forward to seeing you at the 2018 Exhibition which will be open to the public from Saturday 29th September until Saturday 13th October from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursdays until 9 p.m.
