Aged Rights Advocacy Services (ARAS) presents its 14th World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) Conference on Monday 17th June 2019. The program this year has been developed with the theme around 'Elder Abuse: Building Trust'.
The conference will highlight significant developments undertaken in the areas of elder abuse including the new Adult Safeguarding Unit and steps taken by key organisations such as SAPOL and Elder Abuse Action Australia to end elder abuse and build trust in our communities.
Our vision is 'a community in which all older people are valued and respected’. The conference theme ‘building trust’ includes our values of ‘integrity, inclusiveness, justice and respect’. It is about sharing and collaboration of supports and resources from governments, services and organisations so that we can continue to uphold the rights of older South Australians and once again build trust in our communities.
