Trees For Life and National Tree Days 27 & 28 July 2019

National Tree Day has grown in to one of Australia's largest community tree planting events. National Schools Tree Day this year is on Friday 27 July with National Tree Day on Sunday 28 July. If you’re planning an event, or want to join one, go to https://treeday.planetark.org/ to register.

Trees For Life is offering native seedlings at discounted member prices to schools and community groups holding a registered National Tree Day event in 2019. Simply quote the PlanetArk National Tree Day offer when you contact Trees For Life, along with your event details, to be eligible for the discount. Offer ends 31 August 2019 or while stocks last.

If you’re looking for a longer term volunteering option why not check out Trees For Life’s Bush For Life program. The program was created in 1994 to help people take practical steps to conserve bushland. It was the first of its kind and is still one of the largest volunteer programs in Australia specifically designed to protect native vegetation. Today, Bush For Life bushcarers look after more than 300 sites covering over 4,000 hectares to return our valuable bushland to health.

Another option is to grow native plants for the Tree Scheme, one of Trees For Life’s longest-running programs connecting  volunteer growers with landholders. Every year, landholders can order subsidised native tubestock through the Tree Scheme.  Volunteers grow these native seedlings in your own backyard, with access to free training workshops and support from Trees For Life.

You’ll find more information about volunteering with Trees For Life on their website, www.treesforlife.org.au.
