Things are looking exciting for the North Adelaide Croquet Club this November! Not one, but two tournaments have been planned to test their player’s skill levels.

The Association Croquet Swiss Singles Tournament

This tournament runs for four consecutive Fridays starting on the 1st of November, with the last held on the 22nd. Games regularly start around 8am, and will continue throughout each of the days depending on the availability of players. Meals are also held for players each Sunday afternoon, allowing the competitors to socialize with one another. Competitors are matched up to play against people of similar skill level, so the tournament is friendly to players at all levels. To enter, you must be registered with the Australian Croquet Association and contact the club before the competition commences.

The North Adelaide Games Open Invitation
Held on Saturday the 23rd to Sunday the 24th of November, competing in this event is by invitation only, allowing the top players to test their skills against one another. Spectators are more than welcome, meaning this could be an excellent opportunity to see the best of the state.

The North Adelaide Croquet Club holds regular events such as these to celebrate holidays or just allow their members to get together and enjoy each other’s company. The club prides itself on being extremely socially focused, hosting many gatherings for both the players and their families. This friendly atmosphere is only matched by their excellent clubrooms and grounds, described as the “best in the state” from the President Kevin Le Poidevin.

If you’re interested in giving croquet a shot, or simply would love to visit to meet some new people, people of all ages and skill levels are always welcome. The first three sessions are free for anyone playing on a Tuesday or Saturday morning. If you want to learn the difference between a trundle and a scatter, or just want to improve that perfect pass roll, coaching is available for both individuals and groups.
