Local Kindergym takes home three awards
Prospect and Enfield Kindergym took home three awards at the Gymnastics South Australia Annual Awards held in early 2019 including the Medium Club of the Year award.
Kindergym Leader Karina White was recognised as Kindergym Leader of the Year and Club President Ali Blake was recognised as Volunteer of the Year for Gymnastics for All. The club’s other Kindergym Leader, Angie Harpas was also nominated for Kindergym Leader of the Year.
The awards are great recognition for what was a challenging and rewarding year for Prospect and Enfield Kindergym. In early 2018 the kindergym was forced to move to St Philip’s Hall in Broadview after a sudden cost increase from Port Adelaide Enfield council forced the not-for-profit group out of its former home of 30 years at Kilburn Community Centre.
Club President Ali says, ‘2018 was a significant year in the club’s history. The move to the new venue has meant that we have been able to introduce more sessions for local children which is a fantastic outcome from what was a big challenge for the volunteer management committee. Receiving these awards is a great recognition of the hard work put in by all of the families, volunteers and staff at our kindergym.’
For Kindergym Leader Karina White this is the second time she has received the coveted Kindergym Leader of the Year award which highlights the hard work and dedication she puts into each session.
