Urban heat’s a hot topic right now – how much do you know about Adelaide’s hot streets, and how prepared are you for heatwaves? Join in one or both of these informative and hands-on workshops – one focusing on urban heat in Adelaide, one on personal preparedness.
7 November, 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm, The Joinery, 111 Franklin Street, Adelaide
• 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm: 'What's Hot and What's Not',
Join a hands-on workshop with City of Adelaide and University of Adelaide featuring the Adelaide Heat Mapping tool, the latest in heat mitigation research, and testing temperatures using infrared heat measuring equipment.
• 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm: Refreshments, using heat tools and viewing of Pop-up Climate Refuge Designs
• 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm: 'Are you ready for the heat?'
Join the State Emergency Service in an interactive workshop to help you prepare for heatwaves and minimise impacts for all in your life. Come away with lots of tips and ideas – you won’t want to leave!
