Financial Assistance
Disaster Recovery Allowance for SA Bushfires
Short-term payment for directly affected, eligible Australians whose income is affected
Australian Government Disaster Recovery Payment for SA Bushfires
One-off financial assistance to affected, eligible Australians $1000 per adult, $400 per child
Red Cross Emergency Grants
For people who have lost their home and primary place of residence $2000 per household
Please note that other financial assistance including personal hardship emergency payments, re-establishment grants or primary producer Drought Community Support Initiatives may apply depending on the fire - more information can be found at each SA Fire Disaster Recovery Information link listed above
Donations to assist with SA Bushfire recovery can be made to:
SA Vinnies Bushfire Appeal - St Vincent De Paul Society
Provides individuals with material goods: food, clothing, items and vouchers,
Provides financial/emotional support: support and referrals to accommodation and services
CFS Foundation - SA Country Fire Service
Provides financial assistance to CFS volunteer firefighters and their families affected by death, injury, loss or damage of property in service
KI Mayoral Relief and Recovery Bushfire Fund
Provides assistance to people in need on Kangaroo Island
State Emergency Relief Fund (SERF)
Provides financial relief to people directly affected by the fire
South Australian Veterinary Emergency Management (SAVEM) Inc.
Response and recovery to assist all species of affected animals: assess, triage, treat, shelter, reunite or rehabilitate and return to habitat post event
