FOODBANK FOOD AMNESTY – A DRIVE THRU FOOD DRIVE

Foodbank will be holding a Food Amnesty, a Drive Thru Food Drive at their main warehouse in Edwardstown on 9 May 2020.

Last year, Foodbank SA based in Edwardstown were supporting more than 126,000 South Australians across the state every month. One third of these were children. This year while still supporting the 126,000 South Australians, they are also still supporting those in the regions impacted by bush fires with their ongoing food relief requirements and now the referrals for food relief services have seen an unprecedented level of growth as a result of the impacts of COVID-19.

The impacts of coronavirus, panic buying and stockpiling of essential food items has meant that there are some essentials we just can’t obtain. As a result, we are struggling to fill our hampers that will be heading out to families in need.

We are there in South Australians time of need. But we can’t do it alone.

We are in desperate need of the basic pantry including: Pasta sauce, long-life milk, tuna, rice, tinned fruit and vegetables (tinned tomatoes, tinned peas and tinned carrots). Other items include: flour, sugar and soap.

Financial donations (contactless) can be made on the day or online at www.foodbanksa.org.au/donate

Date: Saturday, 9 May

Time: 9am – 4:30pm

Location: Foodbank SA, 377 Cross Road, Edwardstown 5039

Simply drive thru, pop your boot and our volunteers will take care of the rest.

If you have spare to share during our Foodbank Food Amnesty, we encourage you to donate at our Foodbank Drive Thru Food Drive on 9 May 2020.
