Christmas Events 2021
Looking for a great way to begin the festive season? Despite COVID-19 impacting large scale community events across South Australia, there are still multiple Christmas themed events happening. From festive themed markets to carols, there are events suited for everyone.
We have listed some of the Christmas events occurring in South Australia in 2021. If you know one that hasn’t been listed, please let us know!
The Barossa Council
What: Tanunda Christmas Shopping Night
Where: Mainstreet - Murray Street, Tanunda, SA, 5352
When: 25 November 2021

Barossa Council are hosting numerous market stalls across the region, including Tanunda. The Council have partnered with Tanunda Traders to host the Tanunda Christmas Shopping Night on Thursday, November 25th. The event follows flash storms that flooded the community in October, making this Christmas important for shoppers to support local.
District Council of Loxton Waikerie - Waikerie
What: The Lions Club of Waikerie Free Christmas Fair
When: Friday, 26 November, 4pm - 8pm.
Where: Lions Park, Leonard Norman Drive, Waikerie
Who: Lions Club of Waikerie
How: This is a free event, open to the public.

The Lions Club of Waikerie is hosting a family friendly event, with jumping castle, face painting, food van, games and prizes.
District Council of Loxton Waikerie - Loxton
What: Loxton Lights Festival
Where: East Tce, Loxton, South Australia

The Loxton Lights Festival begins with Light Up Day 27 November 2021 featuring a Festive Ferris Wheel, Santa in his workshop at the Riverland Motor Group, craft activities in the Library & Visitor Centre and Fireworks spectacular.
City of Norwood, Payneham and St Peters
What: Twilight Carols
Where: Linde Reserve, 43-45 Stepney St, Stepney SA 5069

Enjoy an evening under the stars as the City of Norwood, Payneham and St Peters host a Twilight Carols event. This free family friendly event will have food trucks and also a visit from Santa himself! You can learn more about the Twilight Carols here.
City of Holdfast Bay
What: Christmas Tree Festival

The City of Holdfast Bay are bringing Christmas spirit to the local community and visitors with a week long Christmas Tree Festival. Be enchanted by handcrafted trees, decorations and more made by members of the local community.
City of Salisbury
What: Adelaide Planetarium Christmas Star Party

Salisbury Council are offering numerous events across December, including Christmas Markets for those looking for unique gifts, Family Fun Days at the Parabanks Shopping Centre and Christmas Carols. You can find out more here.
A notable highlight is the Adelaide Planeterium Christmas Star Party, where you can go star gazing through their telescope viewing on the lawn and watch a celestial show.
City of Marion
What: A Buble Christmas

Enter the Christmas season gracefully with the smooth tunes from The City of Marion's ‘A Buble Christmas.’ Featuring The Will Metzner Big Band performing Michael Buble’s biggest hits, this is a night sure to leave you in the Christmas mood.
City of Victor Harbour

The Victor Harbour City Council are supporting the Rotary Club of Victor Harbour to bring Santa to town with the return of their annual Christmas Pageant! Following this, the magic continues with a Carols event. Feel free to read more here.

What: City of Prospect’s Festive Street Explosion
Where: Events across the City of Prospect – look for music, wandering artists, street closures

Connect with family, friends and neighbours through the City of Prospect’s Festive Street Explosion! Street parties will happen simultaneously from 6pm-10pm across the city on 12 December 21 as the festive season draws closer. The Council have suggested watching for musicians and performers as well.
