Beta Sigma Phi

Beta Sigma Phi is an International Womens' organisation and the name Beta Sigma Phi is based on the letters of the Greek alphabet, representing the words meaning 'life, learning and friendship' their worldwide motto.

The volunteer service group and friendship network has taken the yellow rose as their symbol and presented the City of Adelaide with the Beta Sigma Phi Rose Garden donated in 17 April 1993, a yellow rose garden bed located in Brougham Gardens, Adelaide.

Founded in America in 1931, the non political, non denominational group provides opportunities to support the community, develop friendships, socialise and develop oneself, with women around the world of all ages from a diversity of educational and cultural backgrounds.

Chapter members celebrate Founder’s Day and Friendship Day each year and chapters across South Australia provide support to community services including charities such as Technology for Ageing and Disability SA Inc. TADSA and Catherine House.
