The Friends of Burton is a non-incorporated body to maintain a watching brief in relation to the care and maintenance of the Burton Pioneer Cemetery as a memorial to some of the early pioneer settlers in the district.

The Friends of Burton organises a bi-annual gathering (end of October in the 'odd years') that is held onsite. The gatherings provide an opportunity for an exchange of historical information and a renewal of friendships
