Barossa Reservoir was built between 1899-1902 and was an engineering innovation; when completed it was the largest of its type in Australia.  Now developed as a picturesque visiting area popular with tourists & for picnics.  It has unusual acoustic phenomenon created by its shape and location where sounds travel along the curved length of the dam wall, hence the popular name, the "Whispering Wall".
