Provides policy advice on Aboriginal issues to the state government and its agencies. Administers the Aboriginal Heritage Act, Essential Services Program, training policies and maintenance and funding for Aboriginal communities.

  • Recognising and celebrating the contributions of Aboriginal people and culture to South Australian society
  • Partnering with Aboriginal people to protect and preserve Aboriginal heritage
  • Leading the development of a whole-of-government Reconciliation Action Plan
  • Minister of Aboriginal Affairs is responsible for administering the Acts related to the Aboriginal people
