AMWRRO is the only organisation in SA licensed to rescue marine wildlife. AMWRRO's rehabilitation facility, located on Torrens Island, is the first of its kind in Australia, a natural rehabilitation facility, that houses hundreds of marine animals each year.

Services
- Animal welfare - members patrol Port River and rescue dolphins and other marine wildlife
- Volunteering - members can elect to become volunteers as assist with rescues, water or land based operational crew
- Training - members receive in house training for marine wildlife and rehabilitation methods is offered to members
- Education and community awareness - conducts community awareness campaigns, school visits
