Women of 50 years or over attend functions in a red hat and purple outfit
Or Women under 50 years (Pink Hatter) attend functions in a pink hat and lavender outfit

Whyalla Red Desert Peas also known as the Whyalla Red Hats is a society of women who want to have fun and socialise. They dress in purple and wear red hats.
New members welcome to meet with the group, bring your own lunch, you do not need to wear the red hat or purple clothes unless you intend to join.
