  • Information provided about what supports are required, and assistance with referral to relevant local community services.
  • Targeted emotional support for families, children and young people, including help with managing mental health issues, capacity-building exercises, coping strategies, relaxation techniques and family relationship support.
  • Basic support to help the family manage their lives like establishing routines, identifying strategies to improve communication with other family members and being linked to more specific supports if needed (e.g. home-based support services, conflict resolution, mediation, crisis response services).
  • Access to educational programs and workshops to increase understanding about emotional and mental wellbeing across the lives of children, young people and families.
  • Peer support for families, children and young people: Opportunities for learning and social connection with others going through similar experiences.
  • Negotiating with services to ensure positive outcomes for families, children and young people (e.g. legal aid services, education, housing, financial services, medical).
