Hours:
No set office hours. Please contact us via email.
Meetings:
Infrequent meetings are held outside the main event planning period. From approximately six months prior to our major event (typically July), meetings are held weekly for around two hours, usually Monday evenings from 6pm. Meetings are available online, with an in person option at our office.
Fees:
AVCon membership is subject to an annual fee to maintain membership access. Volunteers are not required to hold membership unless they are managing a department or in a more senior role.

Admission procedures:
All roles are volunteer based, including elected management positions. Volunteer applications are accepted year round until approximately two months prior to our major event. Applicants should submit an expression of interest email: secretary@avcon.org.au
Documents required:
No documentation is required to submit an application. A resume or brief summary of relevant experience may be requested but is not mandatory. Successful applicants will be required to sign a non disclosure agreement as part of onboarding.

Services
- AVCon Festival event delivery - Plans and delivers AVCon, Adelaide’s anime and gaming festival, including programming, exhibitors, artist areas, tournaments and community activities.
- Community events and activations- Delivers smaller community activations throughout the year that support engagement with anime, gaming and pop culture communities in South Australia.
- Video games tournaments and competitive play - Organises video games tournaments and competitive play activities as part of AVCon and selected community events, including registration, brackets, rules and on site operations.
- Volunteer engagement and development - Recruits, trains and supports volunteers to deliver events and community activities, including team based roles and leadership opportunities.
- Community partnerships and promotion - Works with local organisations, venues and community groups to promote positive, inclusive community experiences and to support local creative and gaming communities.
- Workshops, panels and community learning - Facilitates workshops, talks and panel sessions where available, focused on fandom, creative practice and gaming related topics.
