Lenek Zabava
Lenek Zabava is the major annual event for traditional Croatian dance group HFS Lenek Adelaide. After the sold-out event in 2022, this year Lenek Zabava will explode with dance and song as groups 1 to 5 will perform the dances they have been working all year on as the musicians play for them. Attendees can also look forward to watching Lenek's youngest group 'Kikiriki' perform a small medley to traditional music. A dinner buffet is available for all ticket holders.
Program Overview
Doors at The Croatian Club will open at 5:30pm where guests are invited to take photos in the wonderfully decorated entrance hall and find their tables, then head towards the back of the hall where dinner service will start at 6pm in the form of a delicious buffet filled with different traditional Croatian foods.
The program will start at 7:30pm with all the dancers of Lenek standing beautifully on stage as the Welcome to Country is spoken and then the dancers will sing the Croatian and Australian national anthems with pride. The program will continue as the dancers take the stage to show off all their hard work and love for Croatian folklore. After an intermission the show will continue ending with a surprise finale with all the groups to bring the program to an exciting end.

About HFS Lenek Adelaide
Croatian folkloric dancing has been in South Australia for over 70 years, starting in 1951 with the first recorded performance. The dance group was officially named 'HFS Lenek' in 1975 and is the only Croatian dance group in South Australia to continuously provide education and the preservation of Croatian folklore.
In 2023 HFS Lenek Adelaide has 6 groups and a band that all work together to celebrate Croatian folkloric culture. These are:
- Group 1, affectionally known as the ‘Big Group’, 17 + years
- Group 2, 14 - 16 years
- Group 3, 11 to 13 years
- Group 4, 7 to 10 years
- Group 5, 5 to 6 years
- Kikiriki, 4 years
- 'The Band'
With over 100 dancers and band members Lenek works hard to continue the celebration of Croatian folkloric culture in Adelaide by hosting fundraising events, performing around South Australia, and supporting Croatian-Australians. This is all done under the motto of ‘Folklor Nas Spaja’ or ‘Folklore Unites Us’.
