Are you looking for a low-impact, modified version of soccer? Something suitable for all levels of ability and supportive of people who are living with Neurological conditions? Walking soccer could be just the thing.

ACH tells us "The walking soccer program is perfect for those wanting to keep active and involved in sport. The low impact modified version of the game is suitable for all levels of ability and is supportive of people who live with neurological conditions. Facilitated by an experienced coach, participants learn how to play the sport, receive tips and techniques on passing, shooting, dribbling, and fun match play."

Who is the ACH Walking Soccer for?

  • Participants who have experienced a stroke and/ or live with a neurological condition e.g., Younger Onset Dementia, Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, MND.
  • Has CHSP or HCP funding or can self-fund
  • Is either;
    • younger than 65 and has experienced a stroke or living with a neurological condition;
    • over 65 requiring practical support to attend recreational experiences;
    • interested in connecting with other like-minded people, taking part in fun activities within the community, and/ or reengaging with sport;
    • able to walk and stand for periods of 10 minutes at a time. 

What do you need to bring?

  • Comfortable clothes for playing
  • Sneakers/ running shoes 
  • Hat 
  • A bottle of water
